The Hottest Italian Properties
THINK of Ferrari. Think of Lamborghini. Think of Versace. Think of Roberto Benigni. And you can find Italy. Oops, do not think of Mussolini. Anyway, Italy is a wonderful country beyond what I’ve mentioned earlier. The Italian capital of Rome has been there long before the country itself is. Rome is witness to all the bloody gladiatorial sports in the modern times and it is witness to the bowing of an empire to Christianity. Rome also serves as the host of the smallest country in the world, the Holy See. Because the Holy See is the seat of Catholicism, Rome becomes an instant tourism magnet all year round.
No other season in the year is this most indicative except during Christmas season which actually begins four weeks before December 25 in a month of preparation called Advent. In each Advent Sunday, one candle is lit before the congregation and as another week passes by, another candle is lit. During Christmas Eve, the largest gathering of Catholics around the world is held annually and they are not just from Rome or Italy. Representatives from each Catholic community called dioceses around the world hear the Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve. They come from as far as Greenland, Iceland, Canada, Australia and Morocco. During New Year’s Eve, a massive fireworks display is lit in Rome at the outskirts of the Vatican, the campus of the Holy See.
Rome was actually founded by the etymological origin of the name, Romulus. He was also instrumental in creating the Roman Republic which paved the way for the Roman Kingdom and paved the way for the Roman Empire which later embraced Christianity. But before that, there were the Etruscan civilizations and the ancient Italic people who ruled the land.
Modern day Italy is not as far as the ancient civilizations of old. The same bureaucracy is intact; the same Catholic religion is in place. And what better way to be in Italy than to buy properties here. Italian real estate policy currently dictates that foreigners can have individual ownership of properties. With this highly favorable law, there are lots of holiday homes in Italy up for sale. During summer, they are mostly spread around the coasts as lots of tourists intend to go there especially during the Holy Week. During this particular time, people go to the Vatican for very solemn celebrations culminating in Easter Sunday but elsewhere, the beaches at Sardinia and Sicily are full. And so holiday homes are likewise in abundance there.
Foreigners go to Italy and land at the Leonardo da Vinci International Airport. And since the Italian Peninsula is likewise part of the European mainland, one can come in by car too as is the case in borders such as Austria and France. Of course, there are no border outposts in these boundaries as all three countries are members of the Schengen agreement which stipulates the lifting of border outposts to ensure heavy inflow of tourists. So what are you waiting for? Live in Italy right now.
